open fields

distant hills

glassy lakes

secluded by-lanes

whizz past

superimposed

by sepia imprints

of treasured days

******

leaden clouds

disquiet calm

darken the day

he awaits

the thunderclap

the lightning –

musical notes

upon wistful ears

straining for

footfalls from

a receding past

******

the benediction

of April showers

is set aflame

as cool drops

chafe against

sizzling memory

of teasing eyes

trilling laughter

shivering bodies

growing desires

******

without u-turns

and reverse gears

without breaks

are their journeys parallel

or will their paths

intersect again?

    Dear Shernaz!
Thanx for this lovely poem. I wish to reply in a verse form.

    Treasured days
    Nowhere in sight
    Trapped within
    This radiant life
    To dispel the clouds
    Of doubt and ignorance
To usher in a new dawn
    Of hope and brilliance.
